Well, we finally got rid of Direct TV. They were getting to be too expensive and we are able to watch everything we want online via the network websites or Netflix and Hulu Plus. I already watch most of the Patriots games online anyways since I live in Redskin, Panther and Raven country here in Virginia, so I don't lose out there either. We will be saving $40/ month and still get to watch everything anyways!
If you haven't made the switch, I would recommend it, I feel so much better getting free of Direct TV!!!
The Life of a Busy Father
A lot has happened since I graduated Liberty University in 2002. God led my wife, Jewell and I to Calvary Chapel in Lynchburg where we were married in 2007. In the 6 years we have been there, we had our only child, Lydia (now 3), my wife has had a stroke, I have changed jobs numerous times and have stepped down from working with the youth to spend more time with my daughter in the evenings while my wife works and attends school at LGH School of Nursing.

Direct Tv dumped in favor of Netflix
Sunday, December 30, 2012
Well, it is now the end of 2012 (the 30th of December) and I am waiting to watch the Patriots beat the Miami Dolphins to end the regular season and hopefully earn a 1st round bye into the playoffs!!! Anyways, I haven't posted in quite awhile and I have now changed the name of my blog, as I no longer am aspiring to be a youth pastor as the Lord has now called me to focus on my family and to help my wife finish up her nursing school which Lord willing will be this summer. Feel free to find me on facebook or to send me an email if you know me. I pray that you are all doing well and that you all have a great 2013!!!

Too much to report on
Wow, I just logged in and realized that I haven't even posted in about a year and a half plus. The last thing I wrote was about a week before Jewell and I got married. We have been married since June 23, 2007. We have a new member to our family, of the furry kind, and her name is London. London is a rag-doll cat, that although she is full-size, still looks like a juvenile kitten. We love her a lot. Jewell's Dad passed away back in September of 2008 and so now we also have two other cats, Spikey and Precious, a dog named Smokey and Jewell's mom living with us. It is kind of crazy having to deal with the dog and my mother-in-law on a daily basis. I swore that I would never live near either set of parents as long as I had any control over it, but God works in mysterious ways so I guess there still is something He wants to teach me through all of this. I am now working for The Madeline Centre working in the schools with students that have mental health issues. I have been working there since November 2008. I guess that is enough for now, I will keep you all posted as things happen. Hopefully it won't be another year before I get to post again.

I still can't believe it!!!
The Man, The Myth, The Mentor, Dr. Jerry Falwell, passed away at 12:40PM Tuesday, May 15, 2007. I know that he is in a far better place, but for those of us that remain, he will be greatly missed. I can't help but relive two great experiences I had in meeting "Doc". One, while Jewell and I were crossing the road just above Religion Hall and were in the crosswalk, he came rolling up and stopped dead in the middle of the road, rolled his window down and began to ask us where we were from, when we would graduate, what we were studying, and several other questions. He didn't care that others behind him were starting to get held up, he just was talking to students and that is all that he cared about at the time. The other occurred just about a week before I graduated in 2002, a friend of mine that happened to know "Doc's" secretary, set up a lunch meeting with about 10 students, Bev Lowry and none other than Dr. Falwell. He met with us at Macado's, a favorite restaurant of his, and to our surprise, came in without his "entourage," as he had sent them to the location of his next meeting. He spent a good hour eating and talking with us. One of my friends that were there, almost decided to shoot his straw wrapper off the straw, but because we were with "Doc" decided not to. What does "Doc" do?!? He shoots his own straw wrapper off the straw and it sent the whole group of us into an uproar. That is how I remember Dr. Falwell, and I will never forget all that he has done for Liberty, and for this country of ours. Truly, Dr. Falwell will never be forgotten. In the words of Dr. Godwin I leave you with this "A Giant of the faith has fallen!!!" Please remember his family and the whole Liberty family as well, and celebrate the life of this great man of God!!!

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile!
Hey all,
I know it has been awhile (since September) since the last time I posted here. I have been focusing more on the wedding blog and updating everyone concerning all that has been going on as far as the planning. Can you believe it? We are finally getting married, June 23, 2007. It will be held at our new church which is now Calvary Chapel Lynchburg. Speaking of which, we have now been there 6 months and both Jewell and I are starting to get involved in ministry again there. She will be working with the children's ministry and I will be working again with teenagers. I can't wait to get involved again. Well, that is all I have to say right now, check out the Wedding blog to see what is going on as far as the plans are going.

Too much has been going on!!!
Well, things really have been hectic recently. I found out that I didn't get the job that I had been hoping for. My fiance and her family were asked to leave Berean and I felt it was time for me to leave as well. I won't even go into all the details, but I would avoid Berean Baptist if I were you! Let's just say, the problems stem from the Pastor on down into the rest of the leadership there. Currently I am still working for LUPD, although I am continuing my search for another job that is closer to my field of study (youth ministry!). In the mean time, we are also looking for a new church to call home, and for that matter a new place to call home too (Jewell and I don't want to live in my apartment after we get married next summer!!!). Well, I think that is pretty much all that is going on in my hectic life. I will stop ranting now and talk more when something new comes up.

Still waiting...
I am still waiting to hear about the job I had the interview for before I went to camp. I really want out of LUPD and would love to work somewhere in my field of study, or at least in my minor. As I have stated on multiple occasions, I would love to be working full-time with youth, but wouldn't mind working in a psychology related field. I hope to hear back soon concerning the job, but from what I heard, they tend to take awhile to make a decision. The good news is, I haven't gotten a letter saying that I am not hired, which is how they tell you. I really need to call them this coming week, but I am so horrible at remembering to do so. Maybe that is because I am working 3rd shift and am always tired, or maybe it is because I am usually forgetful... now what was I talking about again... JK, I am not that bad, but I do have a really horrible short-term memory. Oh well, I hope to be able to tell you all what the outcome of the job is in the near future. Talk to you all later!!!
